Wanneer

• Bevel of wensen: ask, order, would like, tell, warn, expect, etc.
  

My parents expect me to get good grades.

We asked the teacher to move the test to another date.

Ontkennend

• ‘not’ tussen voorwerp en hele werkwoord

We told him not to smoke in the house.

(We didn’t tell him to smoke in the house.) - betekenis is anders!

I’d like my parents not to complain so much.

(I wouldn’t like my parents to complain so much.) 

Object + Infinitive (without 'to')

• Bij werkwoorden zoals let, make, en werkwoorden die met de zintuigen te maken hebben (see, hear, touch, etc.) is het net anders.
  

We heard someone or something come up the stairs.

She made us think that the house was haunted.

Use the words between brackets to complete the sentences.

Choose between the infinitive with or without 'to' 

My boss (tell/me/do) … the reports before Friday.

My colleague (ask/me/send) … a fax to the customer.

Tom (want/me/help) … him prepare his presentation.
