Introduction

In this approach students can indicate to what extent they have achieved their learning goals at the end of the lesson. This is done through a drag-and-drop question where students place stars next to the different success criteria. In this activity, students can place stars behind each success criterion. One star if they are not very satisfied, five stars if they are very satisfied. Simple, but effective.

Instructions

Every lesson has a learning objective, which is stated at the beginning of the class. Additionally, a cyclical lesson includes a moment of reflection. Besides an exit ticket, this method can complement that reflection process. By explicitly formulating success criteria from the student's perspective, they recognize their progress in their own learning process.

If you have never used success criteria before, this can be a straightforward first step. It makes formative assessment in your lessons and classes more effective.

Aardappeloproer
1917
