Je gebruikt must (not) + infinitief als jij vindt dat iets (niet) moet.
Must is krachtiger dan should.
* They must wear a suit to the interview.

* You mustn't talk during his speech.

Je gebruikt has to / have to + infinitief om:
* zekerheid, noodzaak of verplichting uit te drukken
* te zeggen dat iets moet van iemand anders

Als je have to in ontkennende zinnen gebruikt, dan verandert de betekenis van 'moeten' in 'niet hoeven'. Met don't have to / doesn't have to + infinitief geef je aan dat er geen verplichting is.

* I don't have to do the dishes.
