For the population:

By offering free houses

Expanding infrastructure

By making inland areas more accessible:

The Chinese government expanded infrastructure: building highways, trains and airports. The interior land is more connected with the East

Emerging countries

• Their economies are growing rapidly, often 5% to 10% per year. 
• A second characteristic is that the GNP per capita is still relatively low.
• High level of social and regional inequality.

Consequences of urbanization

Advantage:

Economic growth. 

Negative impacts:

- Physical: air, water and soil pollution.

-  Socio-cultural: countries are flooded with cultural influences from other countries, which destroys their own native culture.

- Economic: inequality

- Political: some countries don’t want foreign cultural influences,
