Text types and purposes
When we read a text, it's important to think about what type it is, and what its purpose is.
Type is the kind of text, for example a newspaper article or an entry in your diary.
Purpose is the reason the text was written. Who was it written for, and why? For example, a text can inform or entertain readers.
