1.2 Present simple

Present simple is used for:

1. habits/routines

2. preferences. 

I always go to bed at 10 PM. I don't go to bed at 8 PM every day.

Tim loves football. Thom doesn't love football.

Anna often goes out with friends.

read => he reads                  have => it has

don't => she doesn't

to be -> I AM, you ARE, he/she/it IS

• consonant + y => ies
  carry => carries

• -o, -x, -ch, -sh => +es

1. do => does;

4. watch => watches;
   
5. wish => wishes

Adverbs of Frequency = how often you do something

I always get up early in the mornings.  = usually before the verb

I am never late for work. = BUT after to be (am, is, are)

Talk to each other - how often do you do these things? Use full sentences:

- get up early on Saturday

- be late for school

- watch sports on TV

- be hungry after school

I write poems.

Where does the adverb go?

1. I write sometimes poems.
2. I write poems always.
3. I never write poems.

She is late for school.

Where does the adverb go?

1. She never is late for school.
2. She is sometimes late for school.
3. She is late for school always.
