Key concepts
Climate change: hotter summers, colder winters
Carbon dioxide emissions – from cars, for example
Greenhouse gases – burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil)
Fuel-efficient – modern cars use less petrol than before
Charge/recharge – mobile phones, electric cars

 Carbon and Water Footprints
1. You are going to work in pairs. Choose Student A and Student B.

2. Open the worksheet (Ecological Footprint) in ItsLearning Planner

3. Each read one of the texts (A -carbon and B - water).
     Answer the questions  for your text

3. Explain your text to your partner using the answers you found. Compare the answers for carbon and water footprints; what is similar and what is different?

You are going to make an action plan for reducing your own carbon and water footprints

Photo collage
1. Make a list of 4 ways you can reduce your carbon footprint and 4 ways to reduce your water footprint at home/at school etc.
2. Take photos to illustrate your actions. It should be clear HOW you can REDUCE the footprint.
3. Make a collage with the 8 photos and have it ready to show during discussions on 20 March 

4. During the discussions, you:
- Explain the photos (how is your footprint reduced?)
- Ask/ answer questions about your classmate's collage

  • Make your photocollage and bring it to the lesson 20 / 23 March

  • For 20 and 23 March - Photocollage Discussions: Be prepared to discuss your photocollage with someone else; You will need to discuss, ask and answer each other's questions about the photos, what they show, why you do what they show and whether they are working)
