  • Who: people
  • Which: things
  • That: people and things (if there is no comma)

Relative pronouns
  • "He is somebody who/that sings in the shower."
  • "It was the table which/that you just moved."
  • "My book, which I have recently finished, is about to be published."

  • Not the subject = left out
  • The subject ≠ left out
  • "They are the artist I listen to most." -> "I" is the subject
  • "That is the cat which/that followed me home."

  • Whom: after prepositions like "to, for, on, by"
  • Where: place
  • When: time

  • Het onderwerp ondergaat iets
  • "The book was written (by them)."
  • Actief = onderwerp voert iets uit
  • "They wrote the book."

  • To be + voltooid deelwoord (present perfect tense)
  • Tegenwoordige tijd = am/are/is + voltooid deelwoord
  • Verleden tijd = was/were + voltooid deelwoord
