Definition: A key or legend is a list of symbols that appear on the map. ... Symbols and colours can also represent different things like roads, rivers and land height.

Now on your paper next to the map-> create your 
own legend for : Mountains, Lakes, Rivers, Forests and
Deserts.

On your maps locate and identify the following:
Per continent at least one major
         -> mountain / mountain range
         -> river
         -> lake
         -> desert
         -> (rain) forest
Use your own legend symbols to identify each feature.

Who:  2 teams of 2 people
Where: on the whiteboard
How: discuss (in English) which sets of 3 match and stick them in             the correct box
Outcome: We now have a table filled with location, country, ocean
