(Exosphere) = Outermost layer, where atmosphere merges into space; satellites orbit here

Thermosphere = Very hot layer; aurora orbit here, International Space Station orbits here

Mesosphere = Coldest layer; meteors burn up here.

Stratosphere =Contains the ozone layer; where some jets fly.

Troposphere = Lowest layer; where weather and clouds occur; airplanes usually fly here.
