HOW TO ASSESS THE PRELIM EXAM?
The Prelim exam is summative for all students and will count for Term 2. For this reason, in order to assess it, we will use the regular criteria from the Language Acquisition Guide as we do with the normal in-class summatives.
What needs to be the same for all languages is the total points for Criteria A and B, which need to be 24 points per Criterion. For Criterion D we will not use points, just the criteria from the Guide as always.
The exam in Assessprep needs to have this structure for all languages:
Task 1: Listening (strand i: 12 points, strand ii: 8 points)
Task 2: Reading (strand i: 12 points, strand ii: 8 points)
Task 1+2: Questions on both texts A and B (strand iii: 8 points)
Task 3: Writing (students are offered two options and need to choose one of the two). The word limit per level is: Emergent>75-125 words, Capable> 125-175 words, Proficient>175-225 words.

                                                              .
