 Part 1 - Multiple Choice - Cloze Questions

Fill in the correct gap. The missing word is likely to be a preposition or a pronoun. A common mistake is that students choose a noun, it is unlikely to be a noun. Look for a 'building block ' sort of word, something that makes the sentence grammatically correct, rather than something that adds meaning to the text

These parts of the exam are based on reading texts, you need to allow plenty of time to read and answer your questions. 

The questions in Part 5 often focus on people's ideas and feelings rather than simple facts about the text.
