Future 1: Present Continuous
Helemaal zeker, alles is al geregeld, hoe laat, met wie, alles is klaar: 

I am visiting my aunt tomorrow. 
 Ze weet dat je komt, dus ze bakt wat lekkers!

She is painting her room next Thursday.
Is afgesproken, ze heeft vrijgenomen.

Are you doing anything tomorrow?
 Zijn er dingen afgesproken?

Future 2: to be going to + werkwoord
Iets wat je met grote mate van waarschijnlijkheid kunt voorspellen:


It is going to rain soon!
Jij ziet heel donkere wolken, kan niet missen!

Look out! She is going to drop that cup of tea!
Ze wankelt, dat gaat mis!

She is going to have a baby soon.
 Ze is heel zwanger, zal snel een baby komen.



We were going to visit my aunt, but she was out.
He was going to call his girlfriend, but he couldn’t find his phone.

Future 2: to be going to + werkwoord
 Een bestaand plan of voornemen:

I am going to visit my aunt tomorrow.
Jij hebt je dat voorgenomen. Je tante weet van niks. Verrassing!

We are going to buy a new car soon.
Leuk, dat hebben we ons zo voorgenomen.

Future 2: to be going to + werkwoord
De verleden tijd van deze vorm (was/were + going to + werkwoord) gebruik je voor mislukte plannetjes:


We were going to visit my aunt, but she was out.
He was going to call his girlfriend, but he couldn’t find his phone.

Future 3: will + werkwoord
Simpel feit, let op, in het Nederlands gebruik je hier meestal de tegenwoordige tijd:


The sun will rise tomorrow.       
Feitje. De zon gaat morgen op.

Lunch break will be ten minutes longer today.
Feitje. Lunch duurt vandaag tien minuten langer

All lessons will be canceled.
 Feitje. Alle lessen vervallen.

Future 3: will + werkwoord
Neutrale uitspraak. Of over dingen die je niet met 100% zekerheid kunt voorspellen:


I will visit my aunt tomorrow.
 Morgen ga ik daarheen. Neutrale uitspraak.

It will rain tomorrow.
Zeggen ze, neutraal. Waarschijnlijk wel.

They will find a cure for this disease.
 Hopelijk, maar nooit helemaal zeker.

Future 3: will + werkwoord
Als er in de zin een voorwaarde staat waar eerst aan voldaan moet worden, gebruik je will + werkwoord:


If you clean your room, I will bake a cake.
If you don’t do your homework, you will fail the test.

Future 3: will + werkwoord
je gebruikt deze vorm ook als je iets zegt wat je direct gaat doen, zodra je het bedenkt:

 

The doorbell is ringing. I’ll answer it!
Oh, you look cold. I’ll make you a cup of tea.
I think I’ll send her an e-mail.

Future 4: Present Simple 
Als iets op een bepaalde tijd is gepland, waar je zelf meestal geen invloed op hebt (roosters, vergaderingen, vertrektijden etc.) :


The ballet performance starts at 8:00 pm.
When does the meeting begin?
There is no need to hurry, the train doesn’t leave for another 30 minutes.

Jij bent dat van plan, zij weet nog van niks.
Je zegt dat je dat gaat doen, neutraal.
