Judaism

• Monotheism = believing in 1 God.
• First monotheistic religion = Judaism.

Judaism is the first <span style="font-weight: bold">monotheistic </span>religion. This means that they believe in one single God. In their fate they call Him <span style="font-weight: bold">Yahweh</span>. The holy book is called the <span style="font-weight: bold">Tanakh</span>.

Christianity

• Christianity was a cult in Judaism.
• Jesus of Nazareth > Preacher in Judea.
  
• Message of love and caring.
  
• People believed that he came to save humanity.
• Followers of Jesus > Christians.

Why did Christianity grow so quickly from the year 313?

     Constantine

• Emperor around 313.
  
• Becomes a Christian.
  
• Makes Christianity the state religion. 
• Every Roman needed to be Christian.

State religion is a religion established by law as the only official religion of a state.
