Slide 3 - Slide

Frank Abagnale jr
Frank is a smart and clever teenager who runs away from home after his parents get divorced. He wants to escape his problems, so he starts to deceive people. He pretends to be a pilot, a doctor, and even a lawyer without any real training. Frank falsely signs checks and steals millions of dollars. This is a serious violation of the law.
Frank is a suspect in many crimes like theft, forgery, and lying about who he is. The police investigate his actions and later he is charged with fraud. He is caught, put on trial, and convicted of several crimes. His sentence is prison time, but later he is released early to help the FBI.

Slide 4 - Slide

Carl Hanratty
Carl is the FBI agent who works hard to catch Frank. He acts like a prosecutor and follows him around the country. Carl uses facts and interviews to interrogate people and try to solve the case. Even though Frank tries to trick him many times, Carl never gives up.
Carl is not angry or violent. He wants justice, not revenge. He sees Frank as a young man who made mistakes. After Frank’s testimony and help with the FBI, Carl helps him find a second chance.

Slide 5 - Slide

Frank Abagnale Sr.
Frank Jr.’s father is a proud man who loses his money and business. He never hurts anyone, but he makes Frank believe that being smooth and confident is more important than following rules. This makes Frank think it’s okay to deceive others.

Slide 6 - Slide

Paula Abagnale
Frank’s mother comes from France. She wants a better life and leaves Frank’s father. Her actions hurt Frank Jr. and make him feel alone. This may be one reason why he runs away and breaks the law.
