What do you already know about the future tense?

Future tense (Going to)

Three ways to use the form:

1: Bevestigend

2: Vragend

3: Ontkennend

Bevestigend

When: If you want to say somthing is going to happen in the (near) future for sure. Or something is planned in the (near) future. 

How: I/you/we  +  form of to be + going to + verb (hele-                                                                                                                              werkwoord) 

Examples of bevestigend

1: Mr.Steffers is going to teach you on Tuesdays.

2: You are going to celebrate Kingsday this Friday.

3: I am going to party as well. 

Which one is correct?

1. I are going to party on Friday
2. I am going to party on Friday.
3. You am going to party on Friday.
4. I am going party on Friday.

Which one is correct?

1. Bram going fish this weekend.
2. Bram going play in a musical.
3. Bram is going to fish this weekend.
4. Bram is going to play in a musical.

Ontkennend

When: If you want to say somthing is not going to happen in the (near) future for sure. 

How: I/you/we + form of to be + not + going to + verb (hele- werkwoord) 

Examples of ontkenningen

1: Mr.Steffers is not going to teach you on Wednesdays.

2: You are not going to celebrate Kingsday this Thursday.

3: I am not going to teach on Kingsday.

Which one is correct?

1. Sophie isn't going to write a text.
2. Sophie is not going to write a text.
3. Sophie aren't going to write a text.
4. Sophie are not going to write a text.

Which one is correct?

1. You am not going to finish your homework.
2. You is not going to finish your homework
3. You aren't going to finish your homework.
4. You are not going to finish your homework.

Vragen

When: If you want to ask someone if he/she is going to do in the near future. Or ask a question that is related to the near future. 

How: to be + I/you/we + going to 

Examples of questions

1: Is Mr. Steffers going to teach on Thursdays?

3: Is everybody going to party on Kingsday?
