  • [Name of person] is a [quality about candidate] that would benefit the team greatly. [Name an example of the quality].
  • The job description states that [description of job] is needed. My feelings are that [name of candidate] perfectly fits that description. [Name an example why].

You are the lead manager within a HR department of a company named YouJuice Inc. Your company sells on the go drinks all over the world. Originally this company was created in Mexico, but has recently been bought out by an American organisation. A this very moment you have three suitable candidates for the position Sales and Marketing Director. You will be writing an email to your superior, recommending one of the three given candidates.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The succesful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Increasing sales and developing marketing strategies.
  • Coordinating the work of the sales tams so that they are more motivated and effective.
  • Carrying out market research to improve customer numbers.
The succesfull candidate will be:
  • A strong personality with leadership qualities.
  • Energetic, dynamic and enthusiastic.
The candidate will have:
  • A good academic background and relevant work experience.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Numeracy skills and analytical skills.
  • Good linguistic ability.



IN YOUR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION:
 Your email needs to have the following:
  1. Use an appropriate introduction.
  2. Mention you have spoken to three candidates.
  3. Mention which candidate has your preference.
  4. Explain why the candidate is suited for the job. (Give three arguments why.)
  5. Make sure these three arguments link to the job description.
  6. Give one argument each for the two other candidates why they are not recommended.
  7. Use a appropriate conclusion and end the letter in a formal tone.
