About a historical British person. (England/Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland) 
  • Who is no longer alive. 
  • Who was/is famous.  
  • Who had an impact on British society.  

To get some ideas, read 100 Greatest Britons (Wikipedia).

Presentation: what information?
  • Who was this person? Date of birth and death. 
  • What was this person known for? 
  • Why was he/she important in his/her time? 
  • Describe when this person lived in.
  • What can you find out about British society at that time?
  • How did this person change the world around him? 
  • How do you feel about what she/he accomplished?

Presentation: how to present?
  • You present in English.
  • You will present alone and in front of the class. 
  • Your presentation should be between 4-6 minutes long.  
  • Your presentation contains at least 5 slides
  • Your slides contain only pictures and key words. 
  • The link to your presentation must be handed in in Classroom.

But: you hand in your Google/Powerpoint/Prezi presentation before the May break!

You have time to work on your presentation in class in April.
You can book a date by filling in the Google Form in Classroom.
(there will be 4 or 5 presentations per date)

Read the jobs in the vocabulary box on page 94. Which one is new to you?

Find out which job suits you by following the arrows.
Then talk in pairs about the job your have chosen.
And talk about which job is:  
  • the most dangerous?
  • the easiest?
  • the best paid?
  • the most stressful?

Do exercise 4 by yourself, write the answers in your notebook.
Then listen to 3.41 and answer exercise 5.
(we check the answers with audio 3.42.)
Read the word friends of exercise 7. Look at pictures A, B and C and fit those jobs with the word friends.
Use the word friends to fill in the gaps of exercise 8.

Game: What am I?
In pairs/small groups: Think of a profession/job
Your partner asks question to find out which it is.
  • Do you work indoors? (Answer 'Yes, I do' or 'No, I don't')
  • Do you wear a uniform?
  • Do you work alone?
etc.
