Slide 4 - Slide

p97, unit 8b, ex. 6
Questions we normally ask: who does what? Move the object, do the "to be + 3rd form" thing.
Steve pushes the panda ----- the panda is pushed by Steve

Look at this:
I must do my homework

So now what?

Slide 5 - Slide

I must do my homework

Slide 6 - Mind map

p97, unit 8b, ex. 6
I must do my homework
My homework must... be done... by me

Verbs like must, could, should usually go with the i-form of the verb anyway (he must does)

Sometimes you can't solve the who does what question. Then do "to be + past tense"

How to study this?
- make sure you have a firm understanding of past and present
- of simple, perfect, and continuous
BECAUSE
- you need to know the auxiliary verbs (hulpwerkwoorden)
passive = auxiliary +  to be + verb (past particple)
- to be: does your tense need an infinitive (ik-vorm), a past, or a participle (3e rijtje ww)?

Slide 12 - Slide

- present simple (no aux)
- present continuous (aux = to be + ing)
- present perfect (aux = have + participle)
- past simple (no aux)
- past continuous (aux = was/were + ing)

Grammar is a formula, just put the right item in the correct box
