How much & How many

HOW MUCH?  is used for uncountable nouns—things you can’t count individually like money, water, sugar, or time. 

➡ “How much is this shirt?”

➡ “How much does it cost?”

➡ “How much milk do we need?”

HOW MANY? is used for countable nouns—things you can count like apples, coins, shoes, or sandwiches.

➡ “How many apples do you want?”

➡ “How many T-shirts are on sale?”

TIP: if you can count it with numbers (1, 2, 3...), use “how many.” If not, and especially if it’s about price or amount, use “how much”
