Putting together a flowering plant

Step 1: cut out the parts and paste them on a sheet to make flower

Step 2: write the correct name to each part; Flower (bloem),  stem (stengel), Leave (blad), roots (wortel), soil (aarde).

Step 3: write down the function of each part; Transport of water and nutrients (water en voedingsstoffen vervoeren), water and mineral uptake (opnemen water en mineralen), reproduction (voortplanting), photosynthesis (fotosynthese) 

Vascular system

• All parts of a plant is connected with each other with the vascular system (vaatbundel system)
• For transport of water, minerals and nutrients.
• Transport of water upwards
• Transport of sugar downwards

Roots 

• Name of the root depends on the place. From big to small: tap root -> lateral root -> root hairs.
• Beside water and mineral uptake, food reserves are stored (opgeslagen) in roots.
• Roots keeps the plants in place

Leaves

• Veins are part of the vascular system. From big to small: main vein -> lateral vein. 
• Lamina (bladmoes): the place of photosynthesis in the leaf.
• Leaf stalk: the place a leaf is connected to the stem.
