If the verb ends with a -y, this becomes -ies when it follows he, she or it. But not if there's a vowel (a, e, o, u) in front of the -y. In that case, the verb gets the regular -s.
I try to be nice --> He tries to be nice.
I buy new shirts online --> She often buys new shirts online.
