Hearing

1.  Sound waves make your eardrum vibrate. 
2. The movement of the eardrum makes the first small ear bone vibrate. 
3. The three small ear bones make the vibrations stronger. 
4. These vibrations create waves in the fluid of the cochlea, a part of your inner ear. 
5. The wave movements in the fluid stimulate sensory cells in the cochlea, which send signals. 
6. These signals travel through a nerve to your brain, where the sound is understood.

The eye (external view)

• Eyebrow (wenkbrauw): Protects the eye against sweat and other liquids (vloeistoffen)

• Eyelashes (wimpers): protects the eye against dirt and bright light

• Sclera (harde oogvlies): white of the eye. The eye muscles are attached to the sclera so eyes can turn.

• Pupil: The pupil lets light into the eye.

Eye wash

• Tear glands produce tears to keep your eyes clean.
• Tear ducts: collect the the tears and dirt and remove it from the eye
