Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you’d expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn’t hold with such nonsense.

Why were the Dursleys proud about themselves?

1. They are mysterious

Mr Dursley was the director of a firm called Grunnings, which made drills. He was a big, beefy man with hardly any neck, although he did have a very large moustache. Mrs Dursley was thin and blonde and had nearly twice the usual amount of neck, which came in very useful as she spent so much of her time craning over garden fences, spying on the neighbours.

Why was it useful that Mrs Dursley had a very long neck?

1. Because she was cleaning a lot.
2. Because she spies on her neighbours.

‘’Up!’’ she screeched. Harry heard her walking toward the kitchen and then the sound of the frying pan being put on the cooker. He rolled on to his back and tried to remember the dream he had been having. It had been a good one. There had been a flying motorbike in it. He had a funny feeling he’d had the same dream before.

Why did Harry have a funny feeling?

1. He woke up to sounds in the kitchen.

“You do it, then, if you’re so clever,” Ron snarled.”

What happens when they use the spell ''wingardium leviosa''

“And now--Piertotum Locomotor!” cried Professor McGonagall.

And all along the corridor the statues and suits of armor jumped down from their plinths, and from the echoing crashes from the floors above and below, Harry knew that their fellows throughout the castle had done the same.
