Who packs for you when you go on holiday?

Exercise 1 - Look at the pictures of the two places below. 

Which countries are they? Write down 10 things you would take on a trip to each place

 Exercise 2 - Listen to Erica talking about her holidays. 

Write down which countries Erica would like to visit and the 10 things she would take to each one

 Exercise 3 - Compare your list of objects with Erica's list. With your partner, discuss which items are a good or a bad idea to take and explain why. Use the vocabulary below to justify your answers

Use the vocabulary ( worksheet exercise 4) to justify your answer.

Exercise 5 - Advantages & Disadvantages

In the exam you will have to discuss the prompts together and give the benefits and drawbacks of the activities you mentioned in exercise 2.

Work in the same group and write down the advantages and disadvantages of the activities you chose earlier.

Exercise 3 - Useful vocabulary 

In the speaking exam you need to make suggestions, give opinions and agree / disagree with each other. This why some useful vocabulary could come in handy. 

Read the phrases shown in exercise 3 and divide them into the three categories given

Exercise 4 - Oral practice

Work together with your exam partner and in your conversation agree on the answer to the following question (exam task)

> Which of the activities would be most interesting

Use the vocabulary from exercise 3 and make sure to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each activity.

You get 5 minutes.

Exercise 5 - Elicit vocabulary

Look at the seven prompts in exercise 5.

Let's elicit the vocabulary that best describes each activity

Exercise 6 - Predict the exam task

In pairs, look at the seven prompts and use the example of the exam task in exercise 1 to write the exam task for the prompts in exercise 5
