Spelling rules of verb+s (SHIT rule)
1. standard rule is verb + s
wants / eats / helps / drives / sings
2. When the verb ends is -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, -o add + es
kisses / washes / watches / fixes / goes / does
3. When the verb ends in consonant + y, y changes into + ies
carries / flies / worries / tries / studies

BUT, when it ends in vowel + y, only add + s
buys / says/plays/enjoys/stays
