Explanation emotions
Emotions are feelings such as happy, angr, sad, scared or excited. Emotions give informations about what is happening inside you. Emotions are not right or wrong. Everyone has them. What matters is how you express them and how you react to the emotions of others.
Explanation respect
Respect means treating yourself and others with care. It means listening, taking feelings seriously and accepting differences. Respect shows in words, actions and body language.
Exercise emotions and respect
One student picks an emotion card and read the emotion out loud.
The student describes a general situation where someone might feel this emotion. It doesn't have to be personal. Example: someone feels nervous before giving a presentation.
The other students share a respectful response. Example: listening without interupting, not laughing or judging.
Repeat the activity.
Be respectful, listen to each other, there a no wrong answers.

Explanation connection between respect and emotions
When emotions are ignored, people feel disrespected. When emotions are noticed and accepted, understanding grows. Respecting emotions means listening calmly and not laughing, interrupting or judging.
