Past Simple - Signaalwoorden

In de zin staan vaak een tijdsbepaling van verleden tijd.

 Regelmatige werkwoorden (rww)

Achter het werkwoord plaats je 'ed'

I walk -> I walked
it rains-> it rained
they beg-> they begged

Past Simple - Onregelmatige werkwoorden

Sommige werkwoorden zijn onregelmatig (OWW) en dat betekent dat ze geen '-ed' krijgen maar hun eigen vorm hebben.

to write  -> wrote    I wrote her a letter last week.
to go       -> went      He went to Italy last year.
to make -> made     They made a very nice meal two days ago.

REGEL: 
Onderwerp + DID NOT (DIDN'T) + hele werkwoord (do, go, take...)
Voorbeelden:
He listened to me. --> He did not (didn't) listen to me. 
They took the bus home. --> They didn't take the bus home.
She wrote a song. --> She didn't write a song. 
The kids ran fast. --> The kids didn't run fast.
