1. Read the title to get an idea of the topic.

2. Read the base text carefully to make sure you understand what it is about and to get a sense of the coherence of the passage.

3. Read before and after each gap and predict what information is missing from each gap.

4. Underline any textual clues (nouns, pronouns, linking words, etc.) which will help you to identify the missing paragraph.
