Learning Objective

At the end of the lesson you will be able to plan and write your own short story using clear steps.

What is a Story?

A story is a made-up tale with characters, a setting, a beginning, a middle, and an end.

Characters and Setting

Characters are who your story is about, and the setting is where it happens.

Beginning, Middle, End

Stories have three parts: a beginning to introduce everything, a middle for problems or adventures, and an end to finish the story.

Story Time!

Example Story Start

What Happens Next?

Think about what problem the mouse could have and how the story could finish.

Once upon a time, a little mouse lived in a tiny house.

Your Turn to Plan!

Plan your story by thinking of your characters, setting, and what happens. Start with 'Who?', 'Where?', 'What happens?'

Ready, Set, Write!

Use your plan to write your own story. Remember to have a beginning, a middle, and an end.
