POINTS TO REMEMBER

• The purpose of writing the article should be clear.

• The title can be a single word, a phrase or even a sentence, which is catchy and pithy.

• The body of the article follows a structured approach. 

• Think of the kind of readers expected to read the article and then attempt to write it. 

• The vocabulary and grammar have to be specific to the topic and use of difficult and bombastic language should be avoided. 

• The visual/verbal input should be used to the optimum and interpreted as per the needs of the article. 

• The points, quotations, etc. in the article have to be planned out.

• Before you start writing, it is appropriate that you spend a short while in recollecting as many words as you can in association with the topic given. You may even write them on the right side of your answer sheet as a rough work. 

FORMAT 

OF AN  ARTICLE

• Title : e.g  Curbing the Spread Of Covid-19  

Should be catchy and pithy. Go as creative as you want but do not devote too much time on it.

•  Name of the writer: By Digvijay Singh. 

• Generally given in the question. If not given, then do not write your personal details instead write- By  ABC,  By XYZ etc.

• NOTE- You are not supposed to mention any of your personal details while attempting the answers in the board exam 

• Body of the article :  Generally written in 3 to 4 paragraphs

• First paragraph : Introduction/facts/ Rhetorical question/ quote/ statistics

• Second paragraph : Development of the given topic, cause-effect/ implications - Pros and cons

• Third paragraph : Your opinion/views, suggestions & recommendations

• Last paragraph :  Conclusion – A note of hope/word of caution/appeal etc.

Hardwork and punctuality are indispensable in a student’s life to reach the top. Students should develop this habit from the beginning of their life. 

If they be punctual and hard-working, they can achieve success and happiness in life. So, punctuality and hard work are the requisites in a student’s life to meet his desired target in life. 

Let us take a few examples. If a student comes late to his class, he misses the lesson, and the teacher becomes annoyed with him. Unpunctuality is considered a symbol of rudeness or uncivilized manner. Napoleon lost the battle of Waterloo because his marshal was too late to come to his chief’s side. 

Nelson once said that he owed his success in life due to punctuality. Hence, hard work and punctuality lead a student to the path of success. So, every student is expected to work hard and do their assigned homework punctuality. Teachers will love him and success will come to him. Indeed, he will be blessed with punctuality.

Craze for Cars - A Cause for Concern

Till a few years back, only a few cars could be seen on roads and only the really rich and powerful people could boast of owning a car. But the situation has changed in recent years and the roads are overcrowded with cars. Now owning a car has become a status symbol and even the middle class owns cars.

Various factors are responsible for this unusual increase of cars on our roads. First of all, cars are considered safer than two wheelers and more suitable for the use of families. Secondly, cheaper cars are available in the market and finance is also available at easy interest rates. Cars are also bought on installment basis. Second hand cars are also available at cheaper rates. However, increase in the number of cars results in environmental pollution. It is a serious problem everybody is concerned about. Furthermore, the capacity of the roads does not increase in proportions to the increasing number of vehicles. The result is accidents and traffic jams.

The most important of all is that cars consume more fuel than two wheelers. Thus, the more cars there are, the more pressures they put on fuel resources. In view of these problems, we must try to reduce the use of cars; this can be done by car pooling. A group of people working at the same place and residing in a common locality can use a single car instead of many. Similarly, the government can also discourage the use of cars by improving the public transport system. A pollution-free atmosphere can be achieved only when the use of cars and of automobiles in general, is reduced.
