By the end of the lesson, you will be able to tell the difference between adjectives and adverbs and use them correctly in sentences.

An Adjective is a word that describes a noun (a person, animal or thing)

A beautiful dress

Adverb= Bijwoord
An adverb is a word that describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb.

She wears her dress beautifully

Werkwoorden die een toetstand/kenmerk beschrijven
Bij bepaalde werkwoorden krijg je geen bijwoord maar een bijv. nw: be, seem, become, stay, look, sound, feel, taste, smell 

She looked sad
I feel terrible.

Adverb= Bijwoord
- Mostly adjectives + ly : quick -> quickly
- Adjectives ending in y change y to i + ily: happy -> happily
- Adjectives ending in -le drop the -e and add -y: gentle -> gently 
- Adjectives ending in -ic add -ally : basic -> basically
- Irregular adverbs: good - > well, fast -> fast, hard -> hard
