What is Latent Heat?
Latent heat is the energy absorbed or released during a change of state (such as melting or boiling) without a change in temperature.
Types of Latent Heat
Latent Heat of Fusion

The energy required for a liquid to become a gas at constant temperature.
The energy required for a solid to become a liquid at constant temperature.

Latent heat explains why sweating cools us down, why ice keeps drinks cold, and how steam engines work.
