Summarizing: 5W+H Questions
Who? Mia, her mom, and her dad (Papa)
What? Mia gets overly excited about spaghetti night, eats too quickly and with her hands, and receives a lesson from her parents about proper table manners.
When? On a Thursday evening, after school and soccer practice
Where? At home, during dinner
Why? Mia loves spaghetti night and is too eager to eat. She justifies her behavior with historical facts she learned in social studies class.
How? She uses her hands and slurps noodles, which leads to a reprimand from her parents. She tries to defend herself with a history lesson, but eventually apologizes and adjusts her behavior.

SUMMARY

On Thursday night, Mia comes home from soccer practice excited for her favorite meal, spaghetti. At dinner, she eats quickly and uses her hands, which causes her parents to scold her for poor table manners. Mia tries to defend her actions using historical facts from social studies class, but her mom insists that in the 21st century, proper manners still matter. Realizing her mistake, Mia apologizes and slows down to enjoy the rest of her meal more respectfully.

                          With the Guys

Who? Mark (the narrator), his friends Tavaris, Nick, and Joshua Lewis (the student being bullied)

What? Mark and his friends bully Joshua, a quiet and nervous student. Mark later reflects and feels uncomfortable about what happened.
When? One afternoon during a break before class resumes

Where? At school, near the gym
Why? Joshua is seen as different and doesn’t fit in, making him an easy target for teasing. The boys act tough to fit in and feel superior.
How? The group mocks and verbally harasses Joshua. Nick pushes him, and no one defends him. Mark laughs with the others but later feels guilt and questions their actions.
Summary

After leaving the cafeteria, Mark joins his friends near the gym where they usually hang out. When Joshua, a quiet and awkward classmate, approaches, the group begins teasing and pushing him. Although Mark laughs along with the others at first, he later reflects on their cruelty and feels guilty. He remembers reading stories about bravery and honor, and starts to question whether going along with the group was the right thing to do.
