IN : for longer  periods of time

examples: in 2018, in June, in the past

ON for days and dates

examples: on Tuesday, on my birthday, on Christmas day

AT-  for the time of day: at 12 o'clock, at noon, at sunrise, at the moment

but:

 at night, at the weekend, at Christmas
