This course provides five lessons on ocean pollution.  The aim is to learn about the types of pollution in the ocean.

Lesson 1 - How does trash enter the ocean and rivers?

This lesson covers the different ways trash enters the ocean.

Learning activities:
    Writing and discussion exercises on what has been learned.

Lesson 2 - What are ocean currents?

This lesson discusses what ocean currents are and where they occur.

Learning activities:
    Writing and discussion exercises about ocean currents.
    Experiment to show deep water currents.

Lesson 3 - What is a gyre?

This lesson discusses what a gyre is, and how trash is moved around the ocean.

Learning activities:
    Research and discussion exercises on how currents flow into gyres and how trash is moved around.

Lesson 4 - How does trash reach foreign shores?

This lesson discusses how trash can reach distant countries.

Learning activities:
    Research and discussion exercises on where the trash you drop could end up.

Lesson 5 - How can we fix the problems?

This lesson covers ways to help stop trash entering the ocean and recovering marine debris.

Learning activities:
    Research and create ways to encourage people to stop trash entering the ocean.
    Design ways to remove plastic from the ocean.
