What is اسم الفاعل?
اسم الفاعل is the Arabic active participle, derived from verbs to describe the doer of the action. It plays an important role in expressing meaning clearly.
Forming اسم الفاعل
For three-letter verbs: Add an alif after the first letter, then use the vowel kasra before the last letter (e.g., كاتب from كتب).
For verbs with more than three letters: Replace the verb's present tense prefix with 'م' and use a dhamma on the second-to-last letter (e.g., مُتعلّم from تعلّم).
