English Pitfalls 
Words often used incorrectly when writing or speaking. 
For example, homophones which are words that sound the same. 
possessive vs. contractions
The possessive is used to indicate that something belongs to a person or thing. 
Contractions are a pronoun and a verb contracted to word

Their dresses were very colourful.

English Pitfalls 
to vs. too
to is a preposition or an action like towards something/someone
too means also or as well. Can also mean more than enough. 

My mom drove me to school. 
I ate too many donuts. 
then vs. than
then is to describe when something happens, like in a list. 
than is used for comparisons

We went to a fast food restaurant then. 
Your phone is smaller than mine. 
Where, were, we're
Where is to describe a location                         Where are you at?
were is a past tense of to be                               We were at the grocery store.
we're is short for we are                                       But now we're at the park.
