Future 2: to be going to + ww
1)'To be going to' expresses that something is a plan (It expresses the idea that a person intends to do something in the future. It does not matter whether the plan is realistic or not.)
VB: We are going to do our homework tonight. (we hebben de intentie, dat voornemen ........)

2)predictions based on evidence (Voorspelling met bewijs)
It is going to rain soon! (Jij ziet heel donkere wolken, kan niet missen)
Look out! She is going to drop that cup of tea! (Ze wankelt, dat gaat mis!)
Werkt ook 'in het verleden'
We were going to visit my aunt, but she was out. (plan is mislukt)
I was going to call my girlfriend, but I couldn’t find my phone.(plan is mislukt)

Slide 9 - Slide

Future 3: will + werkwoord (1)
USES AND EXAMPLES:

Instant or spontaneous decisions – I’m hungry. I think I’ll make a sandwich.
Future predictions based on a belief – I’m sure you’ll pass the test.
Future predictions not 100% sure – They will (probably) find a cure for this disease.
Promises – I won’t tell anyone your secret.                                                   ....probably......
Offers – I’ll carry your bags for you.                                                                   I'm sure .........
Requests – Will you tell Henry I called?                                                            I hope...............
Threats – If you do that again, I’ll tell Mum.                                                    I swear................
Future facts – I’ll be back later tonight.                                                           I think..........................
                                                                                                                                            I promise.......................

Slide 10 - Slide

Future 3: will + werkwoord (2)
Als er in de zin een voorwaarde staat waar eerst aan voldaan moet worden, gebruik je will + werkwoord:

If you clean your room, I will bake a cake.
If you don’t do your homework, you will fail the test.

Slide 11 - Slide

Future 3: shall + werkwoord (3)
We can use shall instead of will for future time references with I and we. However, it is slightly more formal.
E.g. We shall never forget this beautiful day.

Use 'shall' in questions (I/we)  to make offers, suggestions or ask for advice:
E.g. Shall I carry these bags for you?
Shall I open the window?
What shall we do with the drunken sailor?
