Lesson 3 - Marketing Campaign

Give your best definition of a marketing campaign:

How long does it run? What could it include? What could the goal be?

Marketing Campaign

  1. What it is: A short-term project a business runs to reach a specific goal, like selling a new video game.

  1. How it works: It uses different places—like TikTok, YouTube, and billboards, to share one main message with the right audience.

  1. How it's measured: It has a clear start and end date, and success is tracked using numbers like views, clicks, or sales.

Marketing Campaign - Paw Patrol

  • What started as a kids TV show, has now become a multi BILLION pound media franchise.

Marketing Campaign - Paw Patrol Movie

Due to the success of movie, Paw Patrol were able to build their brand to reach even more people and bring out a range of products to sell.

Marketing Campaign - Paw Patrol Movie

After the success of the first movie, Paramount who own Paw Patrol have made a second movie and will do the same process again, making new products and increasing sales.

Marketing Campaign Task

A major music artist (choose your favourite) has just announced their brand-new global arena tour. Your marketing agency has been hired for the most important job: selling out the high-priced "Ultimate VIP Experience" packages. If fans are going to spend a lot of money on a VIP ticket, the marketing must look premium, exclusive, and perfectly match the artist’s unique style.

Marketing Campaign Task

Over the next few weeks you will be designing:

  1. A tour logo

  2. Merch designs - T-shirts, Hoodies, Lanyards etc

  3. Social media content

  4. Tour poster

Today we are going to create our posters.

Features of a poster

  • One Big Focus: A massive headline or giant central picture that grabs your attention immediately.

  • Very Few Words: Short, snappy phrases instead of full sentences, so you can read it in under three seconds.

  • Bright Contrast: Using only 2 or 3 colors that stand out against each other (like black writing on a white background) so it's easy to read.
