On February 24, the Russian army invaded Ukraine.
A lot of countries and organisations have responded to news of this invasion. 
Sanctions were announced by world leaders.  

These is a lot of fake news going around from both the Russian and the Ukranian side.

Rusland annexeerde in 2014 de Krim om de route via de Zwarte Zee naar de Middellandse Zee zeker te stellen.
Vanuit de haven van Sebastopol wordt een groep oorlogsschepen bestuurd. 

De Krimcrisis is de naam voor een grote crisis die in 2014 begon op de Krim. Na de Euromaidan (grote protesten) in Oekraïne werd president Viktor Janoekovitsj daar verjaagd. Veel inwoners van de Krim waren het hier niet mee eens, aangezien veel mensen daar oorspronkelijk Russisch waren en Janoekovitsj goede banden had met Rusland. Rusland wilde aansluiting van de Krim bij Rusland en veel inwoners van de Krim waren het daar mee eens. Rusland deed een inval in de Krim en de Russische militairen hadden de Krim in handen.
De VS en het VK hebben hier ook mee te maken. Dat komt omdat ze met de Russen hadden afgesproken dat die in ruil voor slopen van de kernwapens van Oekraïne niet Oekraïne zouden aanvallen. Vladimir Poetin zei dat hij zich hier niet aan hoefde te houden omdat hij de opstand in Oekraïne ongrondwettig vond.
