Short yes/no answers

In het Engels geef je niet alleen met yes or no antwoord op een vraag.

Je gebruikt een korte zin om antwoord te geven.

Short answers
If you want to answer a question in th present simple, begin with yes or no, then the pronoun and after that do(I, you,we,they) or does(he,she,it).

Do you want a drink?     Yes, I do
Does she need help with that?     No, she doesn't


'You' in de vraag en 'I'/'we' in antwoord
Als 'you' wordt gebruikt in de vraag, wordt 'I' of 'we' gebruikt in het antwoord. Je moet goed naar de vraag kijken om te kunnen zien of het antwoord in enkelvoud('I') of meervoud('we') moet zijn.

  • Je herhaalt het hulpwerkwoord (do/be/have/will/can)
