Free verse 
- doesn’t use any strict meter or rhyme scheme. 
- it has no set meter, poems written in free verse can have lines of any length, from a single word to much longer.

The meters with two-syllable feet are
IAMBIC (x /) : That time of year thou mayst in me behold
TROCHAIC (/ x): Tell me not in mournful numbers
SPONDAIC (/ /): Break, break, break/ On thy cold gray stones, O Sea!
Meters with three-syllable feet are
ANAPESTIC (x x /): And the sound of a voice that is still
DACTYLIC (/ x x): This is the forest primeval, the murmuring pines and the hemlock (a trochee replaces the final dactyl)

rhymes
Perfect Rhyme: Also known as full rhyme, where the stressed vowels in both words are identical (e.g., "moon" and "tune").

Slant Rhyme: Also known as half-rhyme or imperfect rhyme, where the sounds are similar but not exact. ( e.g. country -contra)

Internal Rhyme: Rhymes that occur within a single line of poetry rather than at the end.                                        I drove myself to the lake
                                                               and dove into the water.
