People in the countryside had to stay in the place where they were born otherwise they would lose the right to facilities and amenities such as education, housing and health care.


There were still many ‘illegal’ migrants (about 250 million!) due to the wealth gap between rural and urban areas floating population

- have been demolished and replaced with high rise buildings
- no longer have land for farming very high population density due to multi-storey buildings
