Possesive forms
In year 1 you learned about possesive pronouns (bezittelijke voornaamwoorden).
Their place in the sentence is before the noun (Z.nw)4

Slide 12 - Slide

examples:
Ginny forgot her homework yesterday.

I need to go home and feed my cat.

Where do the Johnsons live? That's their house over there.

Slide 13 - Slide

mine    - die van mij
yours   - die van jou
his        - die van hem
hers     - die van haar
yours   - die van jullie
ours     - die van ons
theirs  - die van hen
The possesive pronouns on the left are used after the verb (w.w).
They are usually the last word in a sentence.

That pen you are using is mine!

I forgot my calculator. Can I use yours?

of mine  - van mij
of yours  - van jouw
of his       - van hem
of hers    - van haar
of yours  - van jullie
of ours    - van ons
of theirs  - van hen
You can use these same words after a noun but then you need to put the word of before them.
