Adjective  >> Bijvoeglijk naamwoorden
  • Een adjective zegt iets over een zelfstandig naamwoord (noun
    >  The old man.               Old zegt iets over man
    >  The pink hat.               Pink zegt iets over hat

  • Een adjective staat meestal direct voor de noun. Maar soms ook erna.
    >  The man is old.
    >  The hat is pink

Adverb>> Bijwoord
  • Een adverb zegt iets over een bijvoeglijk naamwoord (adjective), een werkwoord (verb) of een ander bijwoord (adverb)
    >  She swims quickly.               quickly zegt iets over het werkwoord swims.  > How
    >  He ran yesterday.                 Yesterday zegt iets over het werkwoord ran  > When

  • Adverbs komen meestal achter het woord waar het iets over zegt. 
  • Adverbs vertellen ons: hoe, waar, wanneer, waarom, hoe vaak, hoe regelmatig/veel
  • Adverbs eindigen meestal, maar niet altijd, in -ly

hot = adjective
today = noun

adverbs modify adjectives, verbs or other adverbs.

In this case really tells you how hot
