 You are going to do speaking practise, listening practise and reading practise focussing on the relationship between AI and language.
This part of the lesson will culminate in a group task where you consider the effects of AI on language.

You will work in groups of 4
Round 1: (10 min) Choosing and reading an article. 
Round 2: (5 min) Discuss the article you read with other students who read the same article
Round 3: Present the article to your group and discuss similarities and differences between the articles

Round 1  -10 min
Go to Teams: you will find links to 5 articles about the relationship between AI and language.
Each group member chooses a different article.
You will get 10 minutes to read it.

While reading, focus on the following:
  • What are the main points of this article?
  • Does this article mention advantages or disadvantages of AI for language? Which?
  • Which effect does AI have on language? 
  • Did anything else stand out?
Take notes!

Round 2 - 5 min
In this round you will sit together with all the students who read the same article as you did. 
Discuss your findings from round 1.
Add information to your notes if necessary.
The aim of this round is to check your understanding of the article and add any missing information to your notes.

Go back to your first group.
Step 1: Everyone briefly presents their findings from their article
Step 2: Discuss the differences and similarities between the articles (eg do they focus on the same topics? Do they mention benefits or similarities?)
Step 3: Make a poster with the group findings
