Predicting volcanic eruption
These are signs that a volcano is going to erupt:
-rising magma causes earthquakes
-temperatures in the surrounding area increase
-the surface of the volcano changes.

The volcano gives off more sulphur and makes noise.

Predicting earthquakes

Seismologists make maps of areas where there is a risk of earthquakes.
On the basis of maps, evacuation plans are made, and buildings and pipes are made earthquake-proof.

Predicting tsunamis

When there is a seaquake, the posts located around the warning system are informed. The authorities can evacuate people from the areas that are at risk.

Predicting typhoons

Meteorologists can see from satellite images when a typhoon is forming. They try to predict the route of the hurricane. This is not easy, so it is often difficult to decide if people have to be
evacuated.
