Goals:

• You watch 10 minute news to practice your listening skills
• You will practice your speaking skills
• You will get the know your classmates better

Gedragsafspraken

Hieraan gaan we samen aan werken.

Doel: iedereen voelt zich fijn en veilig in de les :).

1. We komen op een rustige manier binnen.
2. We laten een ander uitpraten als hij/zij aan het woord is.
3. We steken de vinger op als je iets wilt zeggen/vragen

Wat als het even niet lukt hieraan te houden?

• 1e waarschuwing: kan gebeuren.
• 2e waarschuwing? let op! verander je gedrag.
• 3e waarschuwing? je meld je in de DACO en tijdens MWU blijven (tot 15:00)

Yearly planning

For your English exams, you will need to do:

• Spreken (presenteren)
• Gesprekken (mondeling)
• Schrijven (4 tot 5 schrijfopdrachten)
• Lezen & Luisteren (lees- en luisterexamen)

We work on these skills in 4 projects. For these 4 projects, you get 4 grades.

In order to do your exams, you need all these 4 grades.

English class

We start every lesson with 10 minutes of news. 

This will help you understand the world around you better, you learn new words and you increase your listening/watching skills.

Opdracht:

Schrijf op een blaadje de onderwerpen die je voorbij ziet komen. Schrijf in 1 regel waar dit onderwerp over gaat. Dit mag in het Engels óf Nederlands.

Project 1: Speeddate (gesprekken/mondeling)

You are going to prepare a short English chat with your classmates in which you get to know each other better.

Duration: 2 minutes p.p. 

Total: 4 minutes

Deadline: end of this lesson

Gespreksniveau

Het gesprek moet voldoen op niveau A2. Dit is ook het niveau waar je straks examen op gaat doen. Wat verwachten we van jou op niveau A2? 

• Je kunt veelgebruikte zinnen en uitdrukkingen verstaan (bv: algemene persoonlijke informatie en van familie, winkelen, richting geven, werk)
  
• Je kunt communiceren tijdens simpele alledaagse activiteiten en bekende alledaagse zaken uitwisselen
• Je kunt algemene informatie beschrijven over je achtergrond, directe omgeving en directe behoeften.

Rules

• Make sure you start and end the convo properly (intro & outro)
• Ask each other at least 3 questions
• The conversation is all in English
• You answer in complete English sentences, not only 1 or 2 words.
• Each of you is talking for at least 2 minutes each (so 4 in total)

Starting a conversation

You can start a conversation in different ways. The most usual way is:

• Greet each other
• Ask how they are doing
• Introduce yourself 
• Ask a question

Hoe kun je het gesprek afsluiten?

Now, parter up with another student. One is student A and one is student B

Student A starts a conversation. Student B answers the questions. Make sure to start and end the converstation correctly! You can use the following subjects, but ask at least 3 questions.

• What is/was your favourite holiday country and why?
• How has the start of the school year been for you, and why?
• What is a perfect weekend for you?
• What is your favourite food and why?
• Who's your favourite artist/singer/band and why?
• What kind of work do you do?
• What are you most proud of?

Je antwoord in hele volzinnen. Alleen antwoorden in losse woorden is onvoldoende.

Voldeed het gesprek met je klasgenoot aan een goede opbouw (start, midden, eind)?
