“Do” or “does” are used to make a yes/ no question in de the simple present and in the past simple you use “did”.
 
Do combined with subject and main verb creates a question.

For example:
I eat pizza.               Do I eat pizza?
He eats pizza.         Does he eat pizza?
He ate pizza.           Did he eat pizza?

“Don’t”or “doesn’t” are used to make a negative in the simple present and in the past simple you use didn’t.
